To Write Love on Her Arms GWU UChapter
Henry Reeve
Treasurer

Deepika Srivastava
Secretary

Hey everyone, I’m Henry. I’m a sophomore Economics major and the acting treasurer of GW’s TWLOHA UChapter. I’m here because I dealt with anxiety and depression throughout my teenage years, and had no success until I reached out to others for help.
On campus I’m a member of several organizations, from the College Democrats to the Ballroom Dance Society. What brought me to TWLOHA was my friends’ involvement in the organization, both now and in the past, and the best advice I can give you is to cherish and develop your friendships. You’ll find you get out of George Washington, and life in general, what you put into it, so give us everything you’ve got.
I’m excited to meet all of you in the coming year, whether you’re an incoming freshman or have been at GW previously and have been hiding from me.
Hey hey! My name is Deepika Srivastava, and I'm going to be the UChapter's secretary this year. Due to the ridiculously long nature of my name, most people call me Dee. I'm a sophomore with a political science major and an Arabic minor originally from New York City (okay, fine, Long Island).
When I was in high school, I stumbled upon a TWLOHA tent at a music festival, and I was intrigued. Once I looked into their cause, I couldn't help but relate to it and want to be a part of it. Its message of hope and love and self-empowerment genuinely changed the way I looked at things, and it inspired me to help other people the same way that it helped me. To Write Love on Her Arms means a lot to me, so I hope that I can do it justice. Growing up, I was never very comfortable with the idea of talking to people about, well, anything really, but now I know that there are people out there who only want the best for me. Depression and anxiety are okay to talk about, and that was news to me. I want to be that confidante for other people. Best to get the corny part out of the way quickly =P
When I'm not busy being the best TWLOHA council member I can be, I like to stay politically active on and off campus and be involved in serving our community. Knowing you made a difference in someone's life is probably the best feeling in the entire world. Some of the other student orgs I'm involved in are the GW College Democrats, GW STAND, Green GW, and an up-and-coming org called DC Students Speak.
Being a part of the TWLOHA family at GW is undoubtedly going to be one of the best parts of my sophomore year. I can only imagine how many wonderful people it'll bring together. The bonds that have formed between our eboard when we were working on all the logistics of setting up our UChapter were just the beginning of all the fun we're going to have.

Founder & President

Sharon Wildberger
Founder & Vice President

Hello, loves. My name is Ericka Anne and I am the president of the George Washington University To Write Love On Her Arms UChapter. I am currently a Sophomore here at GW and I am a candidate for a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science - basically, in less-complicated terms, that means I’m studying pre-law! I intend on graduating in 2015 with my degree then continuing grad/law school in London. Crazy aspirations, but if I work hard enough, I can do it.
Though it is my second year here, it is my first year being involved with TWLOHA on the UChapter level. When I heard about being able to bring TWLOHA to my university my first week of Freshman year, I jumped right on it. At first, I didn’t get involved with much on campus aside from the sorority I joined (yeah Phi Sig!). However, as time passed, I worked endless days and nights to bring TWLOHA to Washington, DC.
I hope that through GW's TWLOHA UChapter, someone will find the help they need even when they don’t explicitly ask for it. Being someone who has had very close ties with all that TWLOHA embodies, I have all the hope in the world that it can help someone the way it has helped me. George Washington is a campus of diversity and we learn new things about each other every single day. If, by the end of my college career, just one person learns that rescue and help are available, I would have reached my goal in starting this UChapter. I hope that I have a chance to meet all of you within my time here and that you benefit from then the way that I have.
Life is more than just trying to make it to the top - it’s making it through each and every day, making today better than your last. There may be days when you feel like you’ve risked it all and got hurt, days where your cure hurt more than the sickness, days where you just feel like you fell. But in the end, it doesn’t matter how much time you spend on the ground, but the amount of times you get up and dust yourself off to do better.
I’ve lived through my past. I’m loving the present.
And I look to the future with nothing but hope.

Hi, everyone! I’m Farrah, on the Public Relations board in GW’s UChapter. I’m majoring in English. I love writing and drawing, because they allow me to circumvent all of my thoughts and make sense out of them as outlets. This will be my third year at GW, and my first year with TWLOHA! I’ve heard of the organization when I was in high school, but I became more aware and wanted to be a part of it when the VP, Sharon, invited me to come to the first meeting. :D
I decided to join TWLOHA to let myself and everyone know that they’re not alone in these issues, and they don’t have to be! Life is hard, so it’s easier to get by with places of love and support, which is what we’re here for! I think that with groups like TWLOHA, many things that we face in life would be much easier to confront, because we’re open to them and we’re dedicated to spread awareness as well. I’m pretty introverted, but I really do love interacting with everyone and opening up after a while. I’m really excited about our chapter’s debut this year! I have a feeling that we can do an amazing job!
Hi! I’m Sharon (in the blue, on the left!) and I’m the VP and co-founder of the UChapter here at GW. I’m currently studying Psychology with a concentration in Cognitive Neuroscience, with a completely unrelated minor in Fine Arts! :3 I’ll be entering my third year of college this fall, but this will only be my second semester at GWU since I transferred in from Liberty.
I discovered To Write Love when I was a junior in high school, and ever since then the organization has been something near and dear to my heart. I think the beauty of TWLOHA lies in its emphasis on people, on community - on friendships, relationships, and the happiness therein. It is my wish that our UChapter be a place of friendship, community and joy :) I’m pretty quiet at first, but I really do like people and I’m always up for a cup of tea and good conversation with a new friend. I look forward to the adventures our chapter will have this year! :)
Welcome to our page! My name is Sandra and I am the Fundraising chair for GWU's TWLOHA. I'm a sophomore studying Political Science and Criminal Justice and originally from Northern California.
I became involved with TWLOHA through Ericka and I believe in everything it stands for. It is a great organization and I am so happy to be a part of it and watch it grow this year. I hope that many of you will reach out to us for help or even to just talk and say hello, that is what TWLOHA is here for. To be that student organization that you can go to and talk about whatever is on your mind and not feel judged. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! I will now leave you with a quote that means a lot to me and I think represents what we're trying to do as an organization.
"So I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them. But even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them."

Shane Feifer
Events

Hi everyone, my name is Shane Feifer and I am from Philadelphia PA. Right now I am a sophomore studying Asian studies and Anthropology. I hope to one day be able to work the State Department and other fields of international law.
I first heard about TWLOHA form my friend Ericka who started the chapter. The goals and aspirations the organization instantly resonated with me and I knew something had to be a part of the moment I heard about it. As event coordinator it's my job to plan and organize all of the events of the organization will be throwing during the course of the year as well as aid in the development of the close-knit community amongst the members of the organization.
Other than working with TWLOHA, I am a member of various other organizations on and around campus, such as College Republicans, Liberty Society, SCS, Humans Versus Zombies, as well as being a member of Delta Phi Epsilon Professional Foreign Service Fraternity. As of right now I also teach Martial Arts up in Silver Springs. One of my greatest passions in life is music, which is another reason I really like To Write Love, since there is a music heavy background to it. Other than liking and listening to good music, I also play the saxophone and the bass guitar. If you ever see me around campus, feel free to stop me and say hi, I don't bite, and I would love to have the opportunity to get to know all of you on a one-one basis.
